Where Have All the Tourists Gone, Long Time Passing

As expected, the tourists are no longer in abundance five days into the new year.  Today I easily walked through Times Square.  I easily lunched in Rock Center.  I smelled the roses during a walk through Central Park as opposed to the hansome cab horse shit.

And, you know…it was kinda bittersweet.

Come back tourists, I miss you and I want to make fun of you.

(And readers, keep on e-mailing in all those great tourist pics!)

Ah but it was so nice to be able to walk through Times Square at a normal pace though. I don’t miss them. (Okay, I miss their money–come back and spend money in NYC!)

At this pace, the knock-off purse industry is going to go out of business by March!!!

This blog should have color coded “tourist” threat level…

I guess since the holiday season has passed we can downgrade to yellow or elevated. Don’t forget, always be on alert, “If you see something, say something.”

    Guy:

Great idea. I should get a threat level added to my sidebar at all times.

I would actually put the current level at:

    BLUE (GUARDED)

I think we’re in a a two-week grace period right now. We’ll be back to ELEVATED by mid-month, beginning on MLK Day weekend I predict.

Nah, on MLK weekend they’ll all be down here with me! I can almost smell them coming… oh wait, didn’t someone already report that?

There’s enough annoying tourists for both cities to share. Kinda like when two cities share an Olympics or World Cup.
